Typical uses of the Emulator Board are:
Typical conversions include:
KP001 RS232 to 4 x 3 pinpad
This board is used to emulate a scanned 4 x 3 pin pad, with the key data being input via an RS232 line. The keys corresponding to the characters in the command string are emulated via the GAL so that key codes are sent in response to the scanning signals from the door controller.
KP002 4 x 3 pinpad to Wiegand packet with / without parity
This board is used to scan a 4 x 3 pin pad, and when the number of key-presses selected on the configuration links is reached, sends the data as a Wiegand packet, with the key-presses being sent as successive nibbles. Parity may be send with the packet, following standard Wiegand rules. Parity is selected using a configuration link.
KP004 6 x 4 Matrix to RS232
This board is used to scan an array of buttons, arranged as a 6 x 4 matrix, and to send a pre-defined message on the RS232 port when a key is pressed.
KP005 Demuster files - RS232 to 26 bit Wiegand
This board converts a Demuster file received through the RS232 port into a series of Wiegand 26 bit packets, using each line in the incoming file to generate a card.
KP006 4 x 3 pinpad to 26 bit Wiegand (Facility code 0)
This board is used to scan a 4 x 3 pinpad, and convert the key-presses to a standard Wiegand 26 bit packet with a facility code of zero.
KP008 Card traffic generator
This board produces an incrementing card number which is then transmitted in standard Wiegand 26 bit format. The card number starts from 1 at reset and wraps from 65535 back to 1 (0 is not used). A facility code of 0 is used.
KP009 6 x 4 Matrix to RS232
This board us used to scan a 6 x 4 key matrix and translate each key into a designated card number, which is then transmitted via RS232 port.
KP010 - 26 bit standard Wiegand card number generator
This board is used to produce a continuous sequence of incrementing card numbers in 26 bit Wiegand format. Typical uses are for load testing systems or for checking the integrity of the system wiring and data capture devices.
